BajanMom.wordpress.com is where you can find down-to-earth information about moving to and living in Barbados. As a returning national and mother of elementary school-aged children, I know how difficult it is to procure information online to make the transition from overseas to Barbados easier for a family.

Here you will be exposed to information about the moving process, essential services, schools, the education system as a whole, doctors, beauty salons, activities for children, and even some tidbits that may be used as tools to brace you for culture shock, or reverse culture shock. There is no tourism propaganda here, just the nitty-gritty of needs.

I hope this site will become an essential tool as part of your journey. Please feel free, not only to browse, but to leave your comments and questions either in the comments section or contact me via email at bajanmom@hotmail.com. I will answer the best I can and what I do not know I will research and get back to you in a timely manner.

Bon voyage,

Bajan Mom

  1. Hi Bajan Mom, is there any way to receive updates of your blog posts via email? I serached the blog but unless I’m missing it I don’t see that option. Thanks for the valuable info!

    • Hello Marti. I apologise for my delayed response. There is an option to “Follow” on the lower right-hand corner of your screen. Once you press that, you enter to your email address and you should receive blog updates.

      Thank you for reading.
